Write a letter to your covenant

Share your voice, share your story
As we get closer to 50 years of QEII National Trust, we would love to hear your covenant stories. We’re inviting you to ‘write a letter to your covenant’. Tell us about the journey from when you first signed the covenant papers (or purchased the property) to what your site is like today, as well as what you hope for the future.
You can use our handy template (links at the bottom of this page) … or freestyle and do your own thing: a sonnet, a drawing, an audio or video recording, whatever you can think of. If you’ve got a photo of you and your covenant to go with your letter/creation, even better!
Anyone who has a connection to a QEII covenant is welcome to send something in. You could be a kid or an adult, in the reaches of the Far North or deep in the South, it’d be awesome to hear from you.
With your permission, we we’d love to share your stories and photos on platforms like social media, QEII’s Open Space magazine or on our website. We’d also be keen to keep your letter in the covenant file to share with future owners of your covenant, to help them understand the history of the protected area. This way, other covenant owners get to hear other people’s experiences of having a covenant on their land.
