Our Recruitment

If there is a vacancy at QEII that you are interested in, you will need to submit an application. Applications must include a cover letter along with a copy of a current CV. Your cover letter is a key part of our assessment process, so we suggest that you clearly highlight how your experience relates to the key skills required for the role in the letter.

We can accept applications by email at careers@qeii.org.nz or you can apply through any third-party website where we have listed the vacancy, such as Do Good Jobs, TradeMe Jobs, Conservation Jobs and Seek. Please note that eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory for all roles.

The Process

Here’s what you can expect once your application has been submitted:

  1. Confirm – we will confirm that we have received your application upon receipt
  2. Shortlisting – we will shortlist suitable candidates for the role and contact you within 10 working days after the application closing date to let you know if we would like to advance your application.
  3. Interview – if you have been shortlisted, we will arrange for an interview. We usually have between two to four people on the panel for an interview. We will let you know who will be interviewing you ahead of time.
  4. Checks – after your interview, if we would like to take your application further, then we will do the relevant reference checks, police checks and other checks that may be required for the role.
  5. Outcome – after we have completed the relevant checks, we will let you know the outcome of your application.
  6. Offer – If you are our successful applicant, we will make you an offer of employment in writing. Non-successful applicants will be contacted by our HR team once the recruitment process has been completed.
