The latest round of The Stephenson Fund is now open for applications.

The fund was created by QEII to help landowners with any enhancement projects but also to assist if any natural disasters or extreme circumstances impact protected land. It allows us to meet up to 50% of the total project costs, from a minimum of $2,000 up to $20,000, excluding GST.

Some projects that we have been able to assist with because of The Stephenson Fund in previous rounds have included rebuilding fences around covenants following the Kaikoura earthquake, re-establishing a gannet colony on a headland in Northland, ongoing wetland restoration work in a covenant in Otaki and predator control work in covenants on the Coromandel.

If you think one of your covenants has a potential project that would be a good fit for The Stephenson Fund, you can find more information about the fund criteria and the application from here.

Applications are open until 10 August 2018.
